To celebrate National Poetry Day 28 Student across school took part in a workshop to write poems on the first story theme of 'Refuge'. 

After listening to the poem 'The Cold Reality of the Ocean' written by one of our First Story Student Ambassadors, the students then wrote a list of keywords before free-writing what 'refuge' means to them. 

In the second part of the session, the students then wove their free-writing into a poem, the results were thought-provoking, in some cases heart-warming and touching. 

We hope many of these poems can be included in the forthcoming anthology which will be available in July 2024.
