Duke of Edinburgh Practice Walk

Last week a group of 33 students from Year 9 & 10 completed a cross-country walk, in preparation for the expedition section of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. The weather was cold, and the walk was long, but our students showed great resilience and determination. Although it was not as challenging as the expedition will be, it was an excellent way to prepare them for the demands involved. They began to understand the importance of working as a team, developed an awareness of the strengths and weaknesses they each have as individuals, and identified the skills they could offer to an expedition team. They should all be extremely proud of themselves.
