A group of First Story students visited Chapel FM in Leeds to take part in their annual On Air Literacy Festival. After a tour of the converted Chapel Building, which now houses the radio station, a community centre and café, our students took to the airwaves and read a variety of poems and stories. 

Our first group of students have been working with Dr. Sairish Hussain, our First Story Writer in Residence for only a few weeks, whereas the second group are more seasoned writers and have all had work published by First Story. 

Our host, Peter Spafford interviewed our students about their thoughts behind each piece and their experiences of writing for First Story. The programme closed with a song by Mr Bradshaw.
